Equipment Maintenance Technician

Purpose of the Position:

This position is responsible for providing support for on-going production operations, preventative maintenance of equipment, and equipment installations. The position includes hands on maintenance, upkeep, and trouble-shooting on facilities and process equipment.

Facilities Technicians are expected to diagnose building and equipment problems and make necessary repairs in a timely and efficient manner and carry out preventive maintenance on process equipment and plant systems and equipment.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute work order requests managed through the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)

  • Schedule and perform preventive maintenance and assist with calibration of equipment and systems.

  • Diagnose problems with buildings or equipment.

  • Provide service and support to all departments.

  • Assist with installation of equipment and with generating basic safety and maintenance procedures for new equipment

  • Seek opportunities for continuous improvement related to equipment efficiency, uptime, and building conditions

  • Communicate and coordinate work with outside contractors and services companies.

  • Record efforts performed in preventative maintenance, repairs, or other equipment services in accordance with Good Documentation Practices

  • Write and/or review SOPs with guidance from manufacturer, Quality Assurance, and Engineering

  • Perform and properly document deviation investigations, CAPAs, preventative maintenance, and other related document types

    Job Knowledge Required:

  • High school diploma required

  • Associates Degree, Certification, or License in any relevant maintenance trade preferred

  • General understanding of the key elements of process maintenance: electrical, HVAC, plumbing and piping systems, pumps, compressors, valves, controls, chemical handling and safety

  • 5+ years of maintenance/repair experience.

  • Experience working in a cGMP environment is preferred
