Raw Material Development Coordinator

Purpose of Position:

  • Provide detailed process chemistry support to Avecia’s raw material risk management programs, including the Vendor Assurance Committee, specification setting activities, on-site inspections/audits when applicable, and mange non-GMP inventories.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Chemistry input for the development and improvement of raw materials specifications with responsibility for defining raw material quality attributes based on their impact on process robustness and product quality.

  • Support identification of trends and action plans obtained from raw material release testing data.

  • Process chemistry input to writing, reviewing, and revision of vendor assessment plans and reports.

  • Process chemistry input to supplier audits and on site supplier capability assessments when applicable.

  • Support writing and maintenance of formal documents providing justification for specifications applied for release of raw materials.

  • Carry out formal technical assessments of changes proposed by suppliers to manufacturing process, supply chains, manufacturing sites, etc.

  • Coordinate non-GMP raw material planning activities and raw material/engineering part inventory systems involving transactions into Mas90 and Oracle.

  • Manage the base PD inventory with collaboration with SC and act as back up for material handlers for internal PD distribution of raw materials, cycle counts, adjustments and purchasing when necessary.

  • Report status of assigned activities to project teams and to Process Development leadership on a weekly basis or as needed.

  • Maintain an appropriate level of training on company and departmental procedures as determined by Avecia Process Development.

  • Adhere to all company environmental, health and safety policies to support raw material handling, storage and distribution practices.

     

Job Knowledge Required:

  • MS in Chemistry and 3 years of experience in synthetic organic chemistry within a chemical development or manufacturing environment.
  • Broad knowledge of organic chemistry procedures, concepts and literature.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in preparation of technical presentations, reports and publications in English language.
  • Experience in cGMP necessary.
